We bought these clippers in February 2025 after using a cheap Remington product for years. The motor of the transformer-u gets hot very quickly however a bigger problem is that it only goes on for the count of 5 seconds then switches itself off over and over. This causes it to pull at hair or jab into scalp either way it hurts. This happens over and over until there's a change in the sound of the motor and then it runs so hot it could easily burn the scalp. So half the head is clipped with on off procedure the other half is at risk of a burn as the clippers don't stop once the motor is running fast with a rattle. It's taken this long to write the review as I forget once I leave the bathroom! Looking at all these reviews perhaps we got a dodgy one but now we are out of the 21 day return policy we are left with a crappy pair of clippers. Don't waste your money. Buy a cheaper one or speak to a barber and ask about buying a real one through them as the Transform-U clippers also don't give a close clip.

I purchased this set over the weekend as my current clippers had died (manscape). I don't have much left on top & though this clipper is bigger than I am used to I went with the price point just to give it a crack. Certainly feels like it has some quality in the handset when in use. On the zero setting it doesn't however get to the nude nut finish I am looking for. I guess I'll be adding to my arsenal shortly with a smaller groomer piece that is smaller cuts tighter and can be used in the shower.
